Hyper Panda Retail donates AED 600,000 to Down Syndrome Association
The money was raised through a unique campaign “Leave the change to change their life “from December 2013 to February 7th 2015 as part of Panda’s social responsibility
UAE, March 2015: At a ceremony held at HyperPanda, Dubai Festival City, on March 2nd, Panda Retail Company CEO Muwaffaq Mansour Jamal presented a check of AED 611,168 to Chairperson of the UAE Down Syndrome Association and Goodwill Ambassador for Children HE Ms. Sonia Al Hashimi. The money was raised from the joint program “Leave the change to change their lives”, run by the two groups between December 2013 and February 7th 2015.
Mr. Muwaffaq Mansour Jamal expressed his delight at the strong development and success of the program – one of Panda Retail’s leading initiatives in social responsibility that has succeeded in raising over two million dirhams since its launch in 2009.
He went on to emphasize that it was the constant donations made on the purchases of Panda’s loyal customers that ultimately contributed to the amount of money raised. Praising the outstanding work and humanitarian efforts of the UAE Down Syndrome Association, Mr. Muwaffaq Jamal acknowledged the valuable contribution they make to the lives of people affected by the condition. The non-profit organisation offers support to children with Down syndrome, their parents and caregivers. It aims to significantly improve the quality of their lives and offer them the best opportunity to play a constructive role in their individual communities.
Down Syndrome Association Chairperson and Goodwill Ambassador for Children, HE Ms. Sonia Al Hashimi expressed the organisation’s gratitude and appreciation of the donation from Panda Retail Company. After thanking Panda for their constant support and their outstanding commitment to the social responsibility programs they run, she stressed that the success and growth of “Leave the change to change their lives”, has massively contributed to organisation’s work. She added that their aim is to improve the quality of life of people with Down syndrome, and they are in constant need of support from the public to achieve this goal.
