Saudi Films Light Up Cinema Screens in India for First Time with Saudi Film Nights
Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 22 January 2025 – The Saudi Film Commission has announced the latest edition of its Saudi Film Nights event, which will be held in India from January 31-February 5, 2025. Following the success of the 2024 events in Morocco, Australia, and China, the initiative continues its mission to support Saudi talent, showcase the Kingdom’s cinematic creativity to global audiences, and foster opportunities for collaboration and cultural exchange.
The event will begin at the prestigious National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai and extend to Delhi and Hyderabad, offering audiences a curated selection of Saudi feature and short films. The program will also include engaging discussion sessions with filmmakers and participating talents, providing a unique opportunity for dialogue and cultural connection.
Among the films to be showcased are Dreams of the Age, directed by Fares Qudus, Abd, directed by Mansour Asad, A Mechanical Life, a short film by Saad Tahtah, and The Edge, a short film by Ahmed Al-Qathami.
This edition of Saudi Film Nights will bring together distinguished Saudi filmmakers, Indian film critics, journalists, and cinema enthusiasts, creating an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. It is part of the Saudi Film Commission’s broader efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s film industry, amplify the voices of its creative talents, and position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for cinematic excellence.
Previous editions of Saudi Film Nights in Morocco, Australia, and China achieved notable success, reflecting the increasing global interest in Saudi cinema. By bringing this initiative to India, the Commission seeks to build on this momentum, showcase the depth of Saudi storytelling, and promote cross-cultural collaboration between Saudi and Indian filmmakers.
