Saudi Binladin Group Donates AED3 Million to AMAF's Family Village Project
Donation to Cover Cost of Building and Equipping one Villa within Humanitarian Project
Dubai-UAE: 26 October, 2014 – Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has received an AED3 million donation from the Saudi Binladen Group to cover the cost of constructing and equipping a complete villa in its Family Village project. The project is the first waqf village in Dubai and one of AMAF’s pioneering initiatives that support the human development strategy of the Dubai Government.
A cheque for the total amount of the donation was handed over to His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, during his visit to the Saudi Binladen group’s headquarters in Dubai. Al Rais was welcomed by His Excellency Abu Bakr Salem Al Hamed, Board Member and Executive Director General of the Group. Al Rais was accompanied by Ahmad Abu Shehab, Director of Waqf Development, and Mohammad Alkamzari, Head of Public Relations and Marketing at AMAF.
His Excellency Abu Bakr Salem Al Hamed, Board Member and Executive Director General at the Saudi Binladen Group, said: “We applaud the Family Village project for its humane and progressive goals and are honored to support its mandate of welcoming orphans and providing them with a proper home that offers optimum healthcare and education. Our donations to the waqf projects come as part of our commitment to supporting human and sustainable development in countries that implement development projects.”
His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said: “The Saudi Binladen Group has a long history of building iconic projects and developing human capabilities. We highly appreciate this generous donation that symbolizes the excellent relations between the GCC countries. We hope that such exemplary efforts will send the right message to national and regional companies within the UAE to support and help develop charitable initiatives for the benefit of the underprivileged.”
“The launch of the Family Village project in 2012 was part of the humanitarian vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative is in line with the Dubai Government’s strategy for human development. The project improves minors’ living conditions and takes care of their education and health. AMAF is honored to be entrusted with managing this outstanding initiative,” he added.
