Reliable secure communication infrastructure has contributed to a fearless stay of more than two million pilgrims at the holy sites in Makkah, Saudi Arabia   

Dubai, UAE – 2 September 2018:   Together with the telecom companies STC Specialized and House of Invention International (HOI) in Saudi Arabia, Airbus has supplied secure communication infrastructure to the security staff protecting this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. 

“Our reliable critical communication infrastructure plays a vital role in making sure that the government’s security personnel could fully perform their security tasks. STC Specialized has put their trust in us and we look forward to forging similar collaboration with them in the near future,” said Selim Bouri, Vice-President and Head of Middle East, North Africa and Asia-Pacific for Secure Land Communications at Airbus.” 

STC Specialized is a national licensed operator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering not only services and mission-critical solutions but also instant collaborative wireless communication systems to various industries. STC Specialized operates the secure mobile communication system to offer permanent connectivity to various partners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Makkah, is one of the largest gatherings in the world. This year, the event has begun on the evening of August 19th and concluded on the evening of August 24. Organising the Hajj entails growing logistical challenges as the number of pilgrims continues to increase yearly. More than two million Muslims have come to Makkah, prompting the Saudi Government to further strengthen security measures to ensure the pilgrims´ well-being,
