UAE Team Emirates Celebrates World Bicycle Day
In honour of World Bicycle Day, UAE Team Emirates reflects on an incredible journey marked by unprecedented success and support from its fans and partners in the Middle East. Since its inception, UAE Team Emirates has experienced a meteoric rise, far surpassing initial expectations and solidifying its position as the number 1 team in World Cycling.
Mauro Gianetti, Team Principal and CEO of UAE Team Emirates, proudly reflects on the team's evolution: 'We are immensely proud of how far the team has come since 2017. Our journey has been marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to promoting cycling in the Middle East. The success of our team is a testament to the incredible talent and spirit of our riders, supported by our world-class sponsors and passionate fanbase in the UAE. This collective effort has been instrumental in our journey, and we are deeply grateful for the continued backing we receive.'
Under Gianetti's leadership, UAE Team Emirates has reached remarkable milestones, including triumphs at the Tour de France and, most recently, the Giro d'Italia. As the 2024 Tour de France approaches at the end of this month, UAE Team Emirates aspires to achieve a historic Grand Tour double. Gianetti added 'As we celebrate our achievements, we remain steadfast in our ambition to be at the top and strive for the biggest goals in the sport of cycling. Our goals for the future are very focused and forward thinking, aiming to inspire and engage more people in the UAE and beyond to embrace cycling as a way of life.'
This year, the UAE Team Emirates Gen Z team was launched, a new development team which competes at a Continental level and is geared towards nurturing cyclists of the future from the UAE and all over the world. Gianetti said, 'We are committed to helping young riders on their path into the professional ranks and we are proud of the work the team is doing. Our three UAE Nationals are progressing well and will continue to inspire more young Emiratis to ride their bikes.'
Gianetti states, 'On this World Bicycle Day, we reaffirm our commitment to the growth of cycling in the Middle East. We believe in the power of cycling to inspire positive change, promote a healthy lifestyle, and bring communities together. Looking to the future, we are excited by the endless possibilities ahead for the team and the sport of cycling in the UAE.'
UAE Team Emirates continues to lead the charge in promoting cycling culture in the region, supported by strong partnerships and a vision for sustained success on the global stage.
