Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 25 January 2024: Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences marked the grand launch of its new Armenian restaurant, Mayrig, on 24th January. The on-site celebration was attended by local media and influencers, and also saw appearances from the official Mayrig team, who travelled from Lebanon to be present for the occasion.

Founded 20 years ago in Beirut, Mayrig evokes the warmth of a grandmother’s house in its Anatolian style home. Mayrig became the first Armenian restaurant to guard over the rich Armenian culinary heritage. Mayrig quickly grew to become a reference for the Armenian culinary art and put it on the gastronomy map, bringing this rich cuisine back to Yerevan, to the Maldives, Cairo and to Riyadh.

Staying true to the origins of the brand, Mayrig’s renovated kitchen at Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences offers  a selection of authentic Armenian delicacies inspired by recipes passed down from mothers to daughters through generations.. Combining Mediterranean freshness with the full-bodied flavours of silk road spices, Mayrig’s dishes are charcaterised by a playful contrast of textures, aromas, temperatures and colours, promising a uniquely indulgent dining experience.

Commenting on the restaurant’s opening, Missak Kechichian, Head Chef at Mayrig, Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences, Mayrig, said: “The launch of Mayrig is reflection of our commitment to deliver authentic dining experiences that elevate and appreciate traditional cuisines from around the world. Through fine dining, Mayrig uses spices, flavours, temperatures, textures, and colours to bring Armenian cuisine to life, displaying the history and heritage of the Armenian people and their customs. The venue offers a generous selection of dishes, both savoury and sweet, and is set to redefine Armenian dining in Saudi Arabia’s culinary scene.”
