Scuderia duo put on a thrilling show during Ferrari Fest  as countdown begins until return of F1 to Saudi Arabia

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (30th November 2023) – Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz - fresh from completing the 2023 F1 Formula 1 World Championship season last weekend in Abu Dhabi - put on a dazzling show run as part of the dynamic and immersive Ferrari Fest, staged at the record-breaking Jeddah Corniche Circuit on November 28th & 29th.

The event thrilled thousands of fans who gathered on the banks of the Red Sea to witness their heroes race along Saudi Arabia’s iconic F1 circuit a little over three months before they will compete here in earnest when F1 returns to the Kingdom next March 7th - 9th for the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2024.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were joined by members of Ferrari’s WEC Hypercar Driving Roster, including former F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi and Nicklas Nielsen as well as the first official female Ferrari Competizioni GT driver, Lilou Wadoux. Also in attendance were Ferrari GT drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Andrea Bertolini to help kickstart the countdown to the next edition of F1 in Jeddah when audiences will once more watch the world’s greatest drivers take on the fastest and longest street circuit in the world as they go wheel to wheel at average speeds of up to 252km/h.

Staged across two full days at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the Ferrari Fest featured special show runs by the F1 and WEC drivers as well as track activity, street parades and a wide variety of live activations and interactive fan engagements celebrating all things Ferrari and the countdown to F1’s return to Saudi Arabia.

HRH Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and the Saudi Motorsport Company, commented: “It was a privilege to welcome Ferrari to Jeddah to help kick off our countdown to the fourth successive FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2024. The Ferrari Fest has been a truly marvellous few days, showcasing all that makes the Prancing Horse the most famous brand in the world and reminding our fans that there is truly no show on earth like F1. Seeing Charles and Carlos on the track today has only further ramped up the excitement for next March’s main event when they will battle it out against the rest of the F1 grid at the start of a brand new season when everything is back up for grabs. Make sure you get your tickets now and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit next year!”

Charles Leclerc was delighted to visit the world’s fastest street circuit once again: “I love it {the Jeddah Corniche Circuit]. My favourite tracks are the city tracks in general and to have such a challenging and fast city track with so many fast corners here, it makes it even more exciting so I really enjoy this track. We’ve been pretty good in the past here as well, which makes me like it even more!  Now we’ve got three months to work as hard as possible to get back here with a very competitive car. In 2022 it was very close to the win so I hope that in 2024 we will get it.”

Carlos Sainz also was also thrilled to see so many Ferrari fans come out to see the drivers and cars today: “There are so many tifosi all around the world, it inspires so many people to follow not only Ferrari F1 but also Ferrari Le Mans. Like Sebastian Vettel said a couple of years ago: ‘Everyone is a Ferrari fan’ and you can see that everywhere including here.”

Tickets for the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2024 remain on sale with all three-day Grandstand and General Admission tickets currently available at a 10% reduction for a limited time only!  Additionally, all three-day premium hospitality tickets will be on offer with a 5% discount. This new offer follows the end of the Super Early Bird ticket sales phase just completed.

By continuing to offer reductions on tickets for the biggest sporting and entertainment event in the Kingdom, SMC is ensuring that all F1 fans will have the best opportunity to reserve their seats at next year’s showpiece event at the very best prices.

The pinnacle of motorsport is set to return to the shores of the Red Sea next March for the fourth installment of the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX, which has to date produced three action-packed, record-breaking race weekends at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

The next Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is also set to make history as it has been confirmed to host the opening round of the 2024 F1 Academy season. The second season of the all-women series will begin in Jeddah on March 7th   ahead its brand-new seven-race season – all scheduled as support races during F1 race weekends – and follows news last month that the ground-breaking series will be supported by all ten F1 teams who will each provide a driver to the series and have their livery on one car.

The fun won’t stop on the racetrack though as the F1 weekend in Jeddah will once again be delivering another incredible line up of live music concerts by some of the biggest acts in the world.
